FIRE AND SMOKE SEALS

Fire seals are used in fire-resistant doors in order to cover the space contacted by the wing and frame.

Intumescent seals (hot & cold smoke seal) cover the spaces between the wing and frame by expanding depending on temperature increase in the course of fire and thus prevent smoke passage. They have different thickness and width sizes.

Fire and smoke seals are not only used at the fire doors in buildings such as apartment building, hotel, school, hospital, office building, shopping entertainment centers but also they undertake a vital role in preventing fire and smoke passage between the divisions especially in factories and large production plants.

As a requirement of EU harmonization process, the building legislation will require many doors to have fireproof features in common living and utilization areas in the following period and this feature will be imperative.

Intumescent seals are expand for average 20-30 times and ensure smoke and flame insulation of the door at high temperature that occurs in the course of fire.
